Murata Electronics North America added the ±0.5% tolerance option to its NCP series negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor line. The ultra-tight tolerance thermistor is offered for consumer, industrial and automotive temperature ranges (-40°C to +150°C), and provides a low-cost alternative to integrated circuit (IC) based sensing solutions when high sensing accuracy is required. The ±0.5% tolerance is critical in applications where usage close to the maximum operating temperature is necessary, as it helps prevent the maximum temperature from being exceeded due to tolerance variation. This makes the high tolerance option of the NCP series ideal for use in air conditioning systems, power supply/cooling/thermal management systems and automotive temperature sensing applications.
