I’ve not posted for a while, which is rather remiss of me. I underestimated the response we would get to our Heatsink 201 webinar, which I gather was our most popular ever, and the number of questions that people would ask. I had around 120 questions, which after removing duplicates and those to do with logistics ended up at around 80, so it took a while to answer them all. I’ll select a couple of good ones and post them and my answers next time.

Next week I’m off to the NAFEMS UK Conference 2010 in Oxford to give a presentation on ‘CAD-embedded CFD: A Conceptual and Technological Challenge’ and take part in a panel discussion on ‘CAD-CAE Integration’.
I’m then rounding off the week with a visit to our Nottingham office to make progress on a couple of proposals that are going through the JEDEC JC15 committee. These are XML definitions for the interchange of power maps, and compact thermal models (CTMs) such as the 2-Resistor model and the DELPHI model.
After that there will be a lot to write up, but otherwise I should be more or less back to my normal routine and get to post more stuff on my blog. I have a few things planned, including an investigation into a thermal failure in a DVD player, and showcasing some of the advanced physics modelling in FloEFD to name a couple.
