Ohmite Manufacturing, a provider of resistors for high current, high voltage and high energy applications, recently announced that its corporate parent, Heico Company LLC, has acquired Wakefield Solutions. The acquisition of Wakefield, a designer and manufacturer of thermal management solutions and aluminum extrusions for numerous industries, complements Ohmite’s selection of resistors.
Ohmite, headquartered in Arlington Heights, Ill., and founded in 1925, specializes in manufacturing and supplying power resistors to the medical, military, transportation, avionics, and general industrial sectors. Wakefield, headquartered in Pelham, N.H., has high penetration in similar markets. Wakefield’s fabrication products include extruded heat sinks, active cooling components, stamped and low power heat sinks, and precision compression mounted clamp systems.
