“CFD modules embedded within MCAD software utilize native geometry but fail to deliver on solver speed, stability and built-in intelligence. Application specific CFD tools utilize parametric modeling objects allowing users to quickly create typical electronic components (PCBs, heat sinks, fans etc.). However, these advances are lost when importing non-standard geometries; a well-known issue caused by the cumbersome process of decomposing CAD data into modeling “primitives.”
Future Facilities will address this long-standing modeling dilemma in this one hour webinar, which will demonstrate a novel approach to leveraging CAD data featuring 6SigmaET, the next generation of electronics cooling software.
Topics will include:
• Identifying thermally significant features
• Using native CAD data as “tracing paper”
• Direct use of native CAD data in a full CFD simulation
• De-featuring geometry to correct modeling level for CFD simulation”
