Master Bond, a manufacturer of epoxy adhesives, sealants, coatings, potting and encapsulation compounds, has released Master Bond Super Gel 9AO, a soft, urethane modified gel-like epoxy with thermal conductivity and electrical insulation properties that adheres well to a variety of substrates such as metals, glass, ceramics, rubbers and plastics.
Featuring a low hardness of 20-30 Shore A, Super Gel 9AO can withstand thermal cycling as well as thermal and mechanical shock and is ideal for encapsulating sensitive electronic components in the aerospace, optical, electro-optical and other specialty industries.
Super Gel 9AO has a 2-to-1 mix ratio by weight or volume and a low to moderate viscosity. The epoxy offers a working life of 6-8 hours at room temperature, depending on the quantity that is mixed, and cures at room temperature with little exotherm. It is serviceable from -100°F to +200°F and resists chemicals such as water, oils and fuels.
