Laird has released its new air-to-air outdoor cooler, the AA-480 Series, that is smaller and more energy efficient than similar units on the market.
The cooler has “480 Watts of cooling power and a Coefficient of Performance (COP) rating of 1, and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +55°C,” according to the company, “It has been designed to pass Telcordia test requirements for outdoor environments, and the gaskets, connectors and fans provide a NEMA 4 seal for the enclosure.”
The AA-480 Series thermoelectric assembly is “ideal for new and retrofit mobile base station and cell tower projects” because of its size and power, and “protects critical telecommunication cabinets, energy storage systems and back-up battery systems by providing greater cooling power and increased reliability,” according to Laird.
Key features include a nominal/float voltage of 24/28 or 48/56 VDC accommodated by input power, environmentally friendly solid state operation with no CFC refrigerants, and fans that can be controlled for reduced noise.
