The United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted patent no. 8,315,053, titled “Aircraft Electronics Cooling Apparatus for an Aircraft Having a Liquid Cooling System,” to Airbus Operations GmbH.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the patent discusses “an aircraft electronics cooling apparatus [comprised of] a liquid cooling system onboard the aircraft, including a coolant circulating therein; an electronic device to be cooled; and a heat exchanger [that includes] an intake conduit and a discharge conduit.”
“[When] the heat exchanger draws in warm air via the intake conduit, the warm air is then cooled by passing from the intake conduit through the heat exchanger. [The] cooled air is then directed by the discharge conduit to pass the electronic device to be cooled, [thereby cooling] the electronic device,” the abstract added.
