(April 29, 2016) The new Nextfit Robin, an Android-based smartphone, experienced a major cooling malfunction after a recent software update which resulted in the phones overheating.
The device normally heats up a bit when performing everyday tasks, and the update was supposed to improve its cooling process, but when users downloaded it and restarted their devices, they “failed to boot up again,” according to TechTimes.com.
There was also a report of the phone starting to “ooze a faint smell of burning electronics” while it still felt “burning hot,” reported TechTimes.
This is certainly an example of electronics cooling gone wrong. TechTimes added that the “only outside sign of the technical problem was a small warp in the bottom bezel” while the “plastic shell of the smartphone contained the damage to the inside of the device”.
